Preparing for Your Sacred Ceremony

Know that you are participating in a spiritual ceremony with mystery and life's intelligence as the essence of the ritual.  The best way to prepare is to get oriented with silence and stillness and observe/witness your own thoughts, feelings, consciousness state.

The Week Before

While the specific diet is less stringent than for certain other plant ceremonies, how you come into the ceremony will impact your overall experience.  The most important thing is to treat yourself with reverence.

  • Diet Changes

    • Eliminate alcohol and cannabis.

    • Eat healthy, whole foods.

    • Limit or eliminate caffeine.

  • Self Care:

    • Get rest.

    • Spend time in nature.

    • Move your body.

    • Meditate, journal, go inward.

  • Feel into your intention.  If you had a magic wand, what would you invite into your life?  What do you want to create? What do you want to forgive and embrace?

  • Connecting with the plant spirits:  I recommend drinking ceremonial cacao each day to open up your heart prior to ceremony & to build a connection with the plant spirits.  Incorporate into your ritual with journaling, music, meditation. Here is a link to where you can purchase it.

  • Be sure you've arranged a ride as driving isn't recommended.

The Day Of

Driving isn't recommended so you should arrange a ride or public transportation.

  • Avoid high-energy activities like business dealings or interactions that don't make you feel good.

  • Sit with yourself for 20 minutes in the morning.

    • Feel gratitude to life and your soul for bringing you to this day and point in your life.

    • Breathe, smile, and allow whatever to come up.  Fears, insecurities, and triggers may arise today.  It is normal and even expected as your soul knows what's about to unfold.

    • Have a sense of reverence for yourself as you're about to embark on a journey you made an appointment for a long time ago.

    • Journal, meditate, whatever feels good for you.

    • Consider a walk and being in nature.

  • Avoid food 5 hours before the ceremony.

    • Avoid caffeine or other stimulants.  If you need a small coffee to avoid a headache later then have one.

    • If you need nourishment have a juice or smoothie up to 3 hours prior to ceremony.

  • Keep hydrated.  Drink TONS of water.

  • Give yourself extra time to arrive at the ceremony so you're not feeling rushed.

Post Ceremony & Integration

Integration is as important if not more important than the ceremony itself.  That's why every ceremony you attend with me includes 2 integration sessions.  Integration will last weeks if not months or even a year or more depending on how your experience was.

POST CEREMONY:

  • Make sure to clear your schedule the following day to allow time to rest.  It is normal to be tired after the experience.

  • Nourish your body with fresh juices, water, and healthy whole foods.

  • Rest as much as possible.

  • Don't make any big decisions for at least 3 weeks.

  • Continue drinking cacao - to help balance your neurotransmitters and to stay connected to the plants.

  • Attend the integration calls.
